  • IMPERIAL WAR MUSEUMS / Sound Archive

    INSTITUTION : Founded in 1917 to document the efforts of Great Britain during the First World War. Covers all armed conflicts involving the UK and Commonwalth states. Documents are collected in all fields, from personal testimonies to oral history documents, photography, sound, film and posters to war equipment. The IWM comprises 5 locations, including the headquarters with exhibition rooms and the Churchill War Rooms in London.
    The IWM’s Sound Archive holds over 33,000 sound recordings documenting armed conflicts since 1914.
